Not researched; no confirmed South-Africa-facing BetKing product exists to research.
No genuine South-Africa-facing 'BetKing' branded operator was found. BetKing is a trademark used by Kingmakers (backed by Lake Ventures Ltd) primarily for its Nigerian sportsbook, where it holds licences from the Lagos State Lotteries Board, Anambra State Gaming Company and Osun State Government, none of which are South African regulators. Crucially, reputable South African business press (TimesLIVE, 15 November 2026: 'KingMakers expands into South Africa as MultiChoice reports facing tough economic conditions') and industry coverage (playcasino.co.za) confirm that when Kingmakers, BetKing's parent company, expanded into the South African market, it did so under a deliberately different brand name, 'SuperSportBet', launched in partnership with MultiChoice (which holds a 20 to 49 percent stake in Kingmakers). This strongly indicates Kingmakers chose not to bring the BetKing brand itself into South Africa. One search result surfaced a claim that 'BetKing is licensed... in South Africa, the licensing body is the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board', but this appears to conflate BetKing with a separate, unrelated operator called 'Kingbets' (trading name of King Bets (Pty) Ltd, which does hold a genuine Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board licence). Kingbets and BetKing are different brands with similar-sounding names, and this research did not treat the Kingbets licence as belonging to BetKing. South Africa currently has no licence category for remote/interactive casino games specifically; provincial licences cover sports betting/bookmaking only.
