Sportradar's US revenue jumps 47% as prediction markets start to pay

In short

Sportradar reported third quarter 2026 revenue of €362.5 million, up 24% on last year, with US revenue up 47% as deals with prediction-market businesses began to contribute. It kept its full year guidance despite the planned sale of Atrium Sports and the loss of Brazilian revenue.

Why it matters in South Africa

Sportradar supplies betting data and integrity services to operators around the world, and international markets made up about 73% of its quarter. Most of this story concerns the US and Brazil, so the direct effect on South African players is small. It is still a useful signal of where the industry is putting its money: prediction markets are attracting serious supplier attention. South Africa has no licensing framework for them that we have seen, and we have not verified how any operator here uses Sportradar data. Treat this as background on the industry, not a reason to bet.

What happened

Sportradar, the Swiss sports data and technology group, published its third quarter 2026 results this week. Revenue for the three months to 30 September came to €362.5 million, up 24% year on year. Adjusted EBITDA, a profit measure that leaves out certain items, rose 21% to €102 million, a margin of 28.2%.

The detail

  • US revenue reached €98 million, about 27% of group sales against 23% a year earlier, and grew 47%.
  • The company said prediction-market agreements helped. It expanded its Polymarket partnership to more than 20 leagues and competitions, and has signed deals with Kalshi, Novig, Robinhood and about 10 market makers.
  • Betting and Gaming Content revenue rose 37% to €242 million. Managed Betting Services fell 3% to €54.7 million.
  • Full year 2026 guidance was kept at €1.518 billion to €1.533 billion of revenue and €360 million to €368 million of adjusted EBITDA.

Sportradar did not say how much of the total came from prediction markets. One analyst quoted by iGaming Business described the contribution as meaningful for the first time but still early.

What it means for South African players

Your own account with a bookmaker or casino is not affected by these results. The relevance is indirect. Data suppliers such as Sportradar sit behind many betting products, so shifts in where they earn money show where operators and regulators will be busy next. Prediction markets are one of those areas, and their legal status is still a risk even in the US.

What to watch next

Two things stand out. The first is whether the Atrium Sports sale, agreed at $170 million with Teamworks Innovations, completes before the end of the year. The second is the effect of Brazil's betting ban, which the guidance excludes. The analyst estimated Brazil had been worth about €60 million of annual revenue.
