Goldrush is a South African bookmaker with a large casino section, run by Kerlifon (Pty) Limited and licensed by the Northern Cape Gambling Board. The casino side is broad, with more than 1,000 slots, live dealer tables from Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live, crash games and Lucky Numbers. The welcome offer spreads over four deposits, and the page that describes it contains a few figures that do not add up, so read the terms before you claim.

Everything on this page was read on Goldrush's own website on 9 October 2026, including the home page, licence page, game pages and promotion articles. The site's full terms and conditions page would not load as plain text for us, and we have not opened an account, deposited or withdrawn.
Goldrush belongs to the Goldrush Gaming Group, which the site describes as a diversified gaming business with interests in sports betting, limited pay-out machines, route operations, bingo and casinos. The online brand sits on top of that physical footprint. The site has a store locator for its land-based venues, and one of its offers gives new players a free drink and R250 of in-store play at a Goldrush establishment.
Online, Goldrush is best described as a bookmaker with a serious casino attached. You can bet on football, rugby, cricket, tennis, motorsport and golf, take part in Lucky Numbers draws (fixed odds bets on lotto results), and play slots, live dealer games, crash games and virtual sports from the same account. Registration uses a mobile phone number rather than an email address.
If you want a casino-only experience, this is not it. If you want one wallet for betting and casino play, with local payment methods, it fits well.
Goldrush calls its package the biggest welcome deal in South Africa. It is a journey across four deposits, and new players also get 50 free spins on Gates of Olympus on registering. The terms for each step, as published in the promotion article, are in the table.
| Step | Match | Extras | Minimum deposit | Wagering | Payout cap |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Registration | None | 50 free spins on Gates of Olympus | None | Not stated | Not stated |
| 1st deposit | 100% up to R10,000 | 100 free spins on Gates of Olympus | R25 | 30x the bonus | 5x bonus, max R50,000 |
| 2nd deposit | 75% up to R3,000 | Free drink and R250 in-store play | R25 | 30x the bonus | 5x bonus, max R15,000 |
| 3rd deposit | 100% up to R5,000 | 50 free spins on Gates of Olympus | R50 | 25x the bonus | 5x bonus, max R25,000 |
| 4th deposit | 100% up to R10,000 | 150 free spins | R50 | 30x the bonus | 5x bonus, max R50,000 |
A few conditions matter more than the headline. The first deposit bonus can only be used on slots. The whole offer expires seven days after you register, and the Gates of Olympus free spins are valid for two days after they are issued. You must complete each step in order to move to the next. The in-store extras on the second deposit are not available in the Western Cape or the Free State.
The page also contains some numbers that do not reconcile. It advertises a multi-deposit bonus of up to R25,000, but the four match caps add up to R28,000. The "over R140,000" figure in the headline matches the sum of the four payout caps (R50,000, R15,000, R25,000 and R50,000), so it describes the most you could be paid out from bonuses rather than money handed over. Treat the R140,000 as a ceiling that very few players will ever reach.
The in-store play and the free drink are real perks if you live near a Goldrush venue. If you do not, the second step is worth less to you than it looks.
Weekly cashback is the promotion we would look at first. The article says you can receive up to 10% back each week, but only when you lose R3,000 or more in a seven-day period. The week runs from 00:00 on a Tuesday to 23:59 the following Monday, and the cashback is credited automatically on Tuesdays. The article does not say what percentage applies at which loss level, so the 10% is a maximum.
There is also a slot tournament running this month. The R3 million EGT Digital Slots Tournament has three weekly leaderboards of R500,000 each, plus a final pool of R1 million for the top 50 across the three weeks. You register free on the Tournaments tab and earn points on real-money bets of R2 or more on 30 named EGT Digital slots. The tournament page gives the start date as 9 October in one place and 1 October in the terms, and it contains a typo in the final pool figure, so confirm the dates in the lobby before you spend.
The promotions page lists others, including a multi-soccer bonus, a 2 Up early payout offer, a Ladies Night promotion and a loyalty app. Those relate mainly to sports betting and we have not covered them here.
The slot lobby is called Gold Reels, and the site says it holds over 1,000 slots. Named providers include Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Red Tiger, EGT Digital, Yggdrasil, Spinomenal and G.Games. Popular titles listed on the site include Gates of Olympus, Sugar Rush, 5 Lions Megaways, Buffalo King Megaways, Majestic King and African Fortune.
Live casino is a real strength. The live games page names Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live, Ezugi, Creedroomz and LiW as providers, and titles such as XXXtreme Lightning Roulette, Free Bet Blackjack, Fortune Baccarat, Crazy Time, Dream Catcher, Sweet Bonanza Candyland and Caribbean Stud Poker. There is also a dedicated live poker link in the menu.
Beyond that, Goldrush has a crash games page with Aviator, Blast and Skyward, BetGames titles such as Lucky 7 and Dice Duel, virtual sports, and local card game Thunee. Lucky Numbers lets you bet on lotto draws from around the world.
The home page lists these banking options: Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards, SnapScan, Ozow, Capitec Pay, EFT, Instant EFT, 1Voucher and OTT Vouchers. That is a strong set for South African players, particularly Capitec Pay and the voucher options, which suit people who do not want to enter card details.
The site says winnings can be withdrawn in an average turnaround of 20 minutes. That is Goldrush's own claim about its average, and we have not timed a withdrawal, so we cannot confirm it. Speeds also usually depend on the method and on whether your account is already verified.
We could not read minimum withdrawal amounts, daily limits or fees for individual methods on the pages available to us. Check the cashier before you deposit.
Goldrush states that agents are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Channels listed are phone (077 098 4222), live chat, email, and Twitter and Facebook. The site also runs a blog with game reviews and betting information, and a Game Knowledge Centre for promotion explainers.
The licence page says Goldrush.co.za is operated by Kerlifon (Pty) Limited, registration number 2014/035259/07, and is licensed and regulated by the Northern Cape Gambling Board. The home page adds that the group holds bookmaker licences in six South African provinces. The licensed premises address given is in Kathu, Northern Cape. We did not find a licence number on the pages we read.
This is the part to understand clearly. A bookmaker licence covers fixed odds betting. South Africa has no licence category for online casino games such as slots and live dealer tables, so the casino section sits in the same grey area as the rest of the market. Goldrush is a South African company with a South African regulator, which is a different position from an offshore casino, but it does not mean the casino games are licensed as online casino products. Our casino methodology page explains how we treat this.
The licence page also shows the 18+ rule, the National Responsible Gambling Programme number (0800 006 008) and links to the National Gambling Board and the Financial Intelligence Centre Act.
Every page carries an age warning and the national helpline number. We did not find a page describing deposit limits, self-exclusion or reality checks on the pages available to us, so we cannot say which tools exist. If those matter to you, ask support before you deposit. You can also contact the National Responsible Gambling Programme free on 0800 006 008.
Goldrush is one of the more practical options for South African players who want local payment methods and a big casino lobby under a company they can identify. The live dealer range and the slot count stand out, and the minimum deposits of R25 and R50 make the welcome offer easy to try. Be careful with the bonus: it expires in a week, the first step is limited to slots, and the headline figures on the promotion page are looser than the terms beneath them. Confirm withdrawal limits and responsible gambling tools with support before you deposit.
