Lottostar is a South African fixed-odds betting site that started with international lotteries and now also sells slots, live dealer games, crash games, scratch cards and quick games. It is run by Lottostar (Pty) Ltd and licensed by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator. The terms are unusually detailed: a R10 minimum deposit, biometric checks before your first withdrawal, weekday-only payouts and a 180-day dormant account rule.

Everything on this page was read on Lottostar's own website on 9 October 2026, mainly its full terms and conditions, About Us, licence and responsible betting pages. We could not find a welcome bonus or a payment methods list in the pages we could read, and we have not opened an account, deposited or withdrawn.
Lottostar describes itself as the first website of its kind built exclusively for the South African market, and it calls itself "Your World of Live Games". It began with bets on international lotteries and has grown a casino-style catalogue around that: slots, live dealer tables, scratch cards, crash games and quick games.
The wording matters here. Lottostar is a fixed-odds betting platform, and its terms refer to "bets" and "events" even for a slot spin. That is how a South African bookmaker-style licence deals with casino-style games, and it is why you will see "all games are fixed-odds betting events" in the site footer. It is not a casino-only brand in the way an offshore RTG site is.
The home page menu lists Aviator, Reel Rush, Live Games, Slotteries, ScratchCards, Crash, Arcade Games, Quick Games and a Jackpot Arena. Reel Rush and Slotteries are Lottostar's names for its slot products. The terms name the studios behind them: Habanero, Ruby Play, Red Rake, Red Tiger, Playtech, NetEnt, Big Time Gaming, Nolimit City, Quickspin and 1x2 Gaming.
Live games come from Playtech, Evolution and Ezugi, and the site links to individual Evolution titles such as Crazy Time, Mega Ball, Lightning Dice, Monopoly and Speed Roulette. Spribe's Aviator has its own section in the terms, alongside sections for Maverick, Moonshine and Crash Royale, and the quick games list includes titles such as Mayan Dice, Speedy Bingo, Book of Goddess and Fruit Shifter. We did not find a total game count on the pages we read.
There is also a published ceiling on what a single spin can pay. These are the maximums in the terms, per bet or spin, including multiplied and bonus wins:
| Game group | Maximum payout per bet or spin |
|---|---|
| 1x2 Gaming events | R2,000,000 |
| Habanero Reel Rush | R30,000,000 (excluding the Reel Jackpot Race) |
| Habanero Slotteries | R10,000,000 |
| Habanero Reel Rush Privé and Slotteries Privé | R40,000,000 (excluding the Reel Jackpot Race) |
| Ruby Play Reel Rush | R10,000,000 |
| Ruby Play Reel Rush Privé | R40,000,000 |
| Red Rake Reel Rush | R10,000,000 |
| Reel Jackpot Race | R125,000 |
The terms list Slotteries in two different lines with different ceilings (R10 million and R40 million), so confirm the figure for the game you plan to play. For Evolution-supplied slots (Red Tiger, NetEnt, Big Time Gaming and Nolimit City) the terms do not give a figure and say the maximum is shown in your transaction history. If you chase big multipliers, check that number before you play.
We could not find a welcome bonus described on the pages we were able to read. The terms confirm that promotions exist and that they work through a separate Promotional Credit balance: your account holds a Play Credit balance and a Promotional Credit balance, you cannot withdraw from Promotional Credits, and you cannot withdraw at all until any wagering requirements are met. The terms also mention a Star Rewards programme and vouchers.
Vouchers have their own rules. The full value of a voucher, including a Capitec Flexi Voucher, must be played through before winnings can be withdrawn, vouchers cannot be sold or exchanged for cash, and they must be redeemed within three years of purchase.
Because we could not read a current offer, check the promotions page after you log in and read its terms before opting in.
The terms say deposits can be made by debit or credit card, EFT, direct deposit, Capitec Pay or any other method shown on the deposits page. Payments must come from a card or bank account in your own name. The minimum deposit is R10 per deposit.
Pay with Crypto is also described, through Luno and VALR wallets only. Lottostar receives the rand equivalent, not cryptocurrency. The minimum is R100 per transaction and the daily and per-transaction maximum is R40,000. You must be fully FICA verified before you can use it.
A few deposit rules are worth knowing before you start. Lottostar reserves the right to charge a 5% administration fee on credit card deposits. Every deposit has to be played through at least once before you can withdraw it. If you withdraw a deposit that has barely been played, the terms allow an administration fee equal to Lottostar's cost of processing that deposit, and possible account suspension.
Withdrawals are where Lottostar's terms are most specific. EFT withdrawals go only to a bank account in your name. The minimums are R100 by EFT, R200 by ABSA CashSend, Nedbank Send-iMali and FNB eWallet, and R500 by Standard Bank Instant Money.
| Cash-send method | Minimum | Daily limit | 30-day limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| ABSA CashSend | R200 | R3,000 | R25,000 |
| FNB eWallet | R200 | R3,000 | R25,000 |
| Nedbank Send-iMali | R200 | R4,000 | R25,000 |
| Standard Bank Instant Money | R500 | R5,000 | R25,000 |
Timing needs attention. Withdrawals are processed on weekdays only, at 07:00, excluding public holidays. A request made after 07:00 waits for the next weekday, and nothing is processed at weekends. After processing, the terms say a withdrawal can take up to 48 hours to reflect. Only one withdrawal can be in progress at a time, so to change an amount or method you must cancel the first request.
Verification comes first. Withdrawals are not processed until FICA requirements are met, and biometric verification is mandatory for first-time withdrawal requests. Failing it can mean the withdrawal cannot be processed. For withdrawals of R25,000 or more, Lottostar may ask for certified copies of your original FICA documents.
The terms say lawful winnings are paid within 30 days of being won, provided verification is complete, and that winnings must be withdrawn or bet within 90 days of allocation or they may be forfeited. Do not sit on a balance.
An account with no deposit, withdrawal or bet for 180 days is treated as dormant, and the terms say funds in it then cease to be valid. That is a short window compared with many sites, so log in and use or withdraw your balance if you take a break.
Each person may hold one account only, banking details cannot be shared between profiles, and the terms ban bots, scripts and automated tools. Lottostar can void bets, bonuses and winnings on accounts it finds were created fraudulently, and it reserves a broad right to suspend or close accounts.
The About Us page says support runs through live chat, email and phone, plus Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube. We could not read a contact page with numbers or opening hours, so we cannot give you those.
The disputes clause is clear. You send a summary and your contact details to legal@lottostar.co.za. If it cannot be settled, Lottostar says it will tell you to take it to the regulator, and you can also complain to the regulator directly. The regulator's decision is final and binding, with a court available only if either side is unhappy with that outcome. The terms add that your account may be temporarily deactivated while a dispute is investigated.
The About Us and licence pages say Lottostar is approved, licensed and regulated in South Africa by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator and operated by Lottostar (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2007/011071/07, licence number 9-2-1-09467. The registered address is in Mbombela. It states its terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
That is a real South African licence with a named regulator and a published number, which already puts Lottostar ahead of most offshore sites on transparency. As with every South African operator, though, there is no separate licence for online casino games, so its slots and live tables sit in the same grey area as the rest of the market. See our casino methodology page.
Lottostar also states that results come from an independently certified random number generator for its quick games, and that the game server's result prevails if your screen shows something different.
The terms set out two formal tools. A cooling-off period suspends access to your account for between 24 hours and three months, you choose the length, and it cannot be shortened once confirmed. Self-exclusion bans you for at least six months and is done through a form on the responsible betting page or by telling the call centre. Lottostar may share exclusion forms with the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator.
The terms point to a toll-free line, 0800 233 780, as well as the National Responsible Gambling Programme on 0800 006 008. The responsible betting page also carries a self-assessment quiz. We did not find deposit limits or reality checks mentioned in the pages we read.
Lottostar is a sensible choice for a South African player who likes lotteries, quick games and crash titles alongside slots, and who wants a licensed local operator with rules written out in full. The low minimum deposit and the published limits make it easy to understand what you are getting into. The things to plan around are the timing and verification rules: weekday-only payouts at 07:00, biometric checks on your first withdrawal and a 180-day dormancy clock. If you value a big welcome bonus, you will need to check what is on offer after you log in, because we could not confirm one.
